Eiko Yamamoto began playing the piano at the age of five. She studied at Tokyo Metropolitan Art and Music High School, then at Toho Gakuen School of Music. After that,
she studied jazz with several Japanese famous jazz pianists for two years.
Eiko has appeared in many concerts and also
accompanied singers, musicals and ballets, and has
wide experience as a piano teacher.
At YAMAHA’s request, she arranged classical and popular pieces for the
Clavinova , which is the special keyboard instrument , and introduced the
Clavinova to many people by performance in Japan.
From 1994 Eiko had been in Australia and she completed post-graduate studies
under John Luxton at the Canberra School of Music in ANU (Australian National
University) in 1998. Eiko has performed in her recitals, various concerts, and also accompanied choirs, cello
and other instruments in Australia.
After coming back to Japan, Eiko gave the
recitals in Tokyo and teaches the piano in several music schools.
Eiko has completed her original new piano
method for young children, which enables
children to learn easily, and enables teachers to teach easily.
This new piano method, called “PIANO ATELIER SYSTEM” which consists of twenty-one books, came out in
2007, and has the fine reputations in Japan. She has not only the twenty-one
books of “PIANO ATELIER SYSTEM”but also her music books for piano lessons
which has been published one after another in Japan.
Now Eiko has a keen interest in spreading her “PIANO ATELIER SYSTEM” all
over the world,especially in U.S.,U.K.,Gerrmany,France,Canada,Australia and New
Zealand.
